Is this thing on?

January26

So, my grand plan to keep my blog updated after I left Facebook didn’t work out quite how I wanted. Sorry for the tumbleweeds.

What I’ll be doing for the next month

March20

I’m taking a children and young adult books class this semester; I need to read at least 70 books (only half of which can be picture books) of mostly my choosing before the semester is over. I already had the stacked books checked out and yesterday I filled the blue bag* with more books. Yesterday I read Meg Cabot’s How to Be Popular and today I’m working on Maggie Stiefvater’s Shiver.

It sounds like a lot of books, but I can’t really complain. I love to read and this has given me a good excuse to finally check out some of the series that I had heard of but hadn’t read (Artemis Fowl, Hunger Games, Percy Jackson, etc.).

*I recommend buying one of these bags if you’re like me and tend to check out a bunch of books at a time.

So many t-shirts

March18

In honor of Spring Break coming to an end, I took the day off from work and went to the outlet mall. Some observations from the trip:

  • Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” is totally Madonna’s “Express Yourself.” When a radio station wants to play “Born This Way”, they should just play Madonna instead.
  • Because of this video, I can’t help but say “frakking” in my head when I hear Enrique Iglesias’ “Tonight (I’m F**king You)”.
  • My willpower regarding resisting new scarf purchases does have a breaking point. Every single store I went into had lots of pretty scarves. I was strong until I went into my last store for the day and saw the pink scarf pictured.
  • When I’m working, I am ready for lunch by 11 o’clock. When I’m shopping, I can go until late afternoon before I realize 1) I haven’t had lunch and 2) I have a hunger headache.

Hurrah for outlet shopping
